Ability tests
The SOVA ability tests are a cutting-edge tool for measuring candidates’ potential for quick learning and analysing of new written, numerical, and/or abstract material.
The SOVA system has an adaptive feature, which means that each time a candidate answers a series of questions correctly in one section, they are presented with a pool of more difficult questions. However, if the answers are incorrect, they will be redirected to an easier section of questions. The adaptive testing system allows for a more precise and accurate assessment of a candidate’s potential for analytical thinking. In addition, this functionality allows for a shorter testing time, reducing the effect of fatigue.
SOVA ability test results take into account both accuracy and speed of completion. Although the test does not have a time limit, the candidate’s response time is recorded and included in the final score, which is then compared to the results of a normative group and presented on a percentile scale.

SOVA numerical reasoning test assess how quickly and accurately a candidate can process novel numerical information and use it to calculate the answer to a question. This type of reasoning ability is involved in tasks that require analysis and interpretation of numerical data, such as working with graphs or budgets, or carrying out calculations.
SOVA verbal reasoning test assess how quickly and accurately a candidate can process novel verbal information and use it to draw the correct conclusions. This type of reasoning ability is involved in tasks that require making sense of large amounts of written information, such as interpreting written reports or documents.
SOVA logical reasoning test assess how quickly and accurately a candidate can process novel abstract information, such as identifying patterns in a sequence. This type of reasoning ability is involved in tasks that involve more abstract information or data, such as in programming or sciences.
